Making a Difference: Hideaway Beach Club’s Community Comes Through for Staff

On April 29th, Hideaway Beach Club took a significant step in supporting their staff by hosting its first-ever dinner and live auction for Hideaway Helping Hands (H3). H3 is dedicated to assisting Hideaway staff during times of unexpected financial need, providing them with aid in financially challenging situations.
The concept for the Helping Hands fund originated in 2022, when a compassionate member of the Hideaway community proposed the idea of establishing a fund specifically for staff members facing difficulties—whether it be for medical expenses, urgent car repairs, or other emergencies. This initiative has since become a vital resource for the dedicated team members who dedicate their time to keeping the club running smoothly.
This year, the staff collaborated to organize a live auction with gifts donated by themselves, brainstorming items that would not only attract bidders but also generate substantial funds for the Helping Hands initiative. Among the exclusive offerings were a private speakeasy experience for 20 and a luxurious 2-night stay at The Wager Estate in Napa Valley with tastings at Laird Vineyard and Benevolent Neglect, alongside other unique and enticing auction items.
Hideaway isn’t just a workplace—it’s a community that truly cares. This program means more than most of our members realize. Even the smallest contributions go a long way. Many of us live paycheck to paycheck, and in moments of crisis, it’s incredibly comforting to know that Hideaway has our backs. Knowing there’s support when you’re struggling to afford rent or a bill can make all the difference,” a staff member said.
The event successfully brought together the community, showcasing the collective commitment members have to supporting the wonderful staff who serve at Hideaway Beach Club. With the $196,000 raised from the auction, the Helping Hands fund will continue to offer essential support to staff members during times of need, illustrating the profound impact of community on individual lives.
The success of the evening serves as a testament to the power of community and generosity from Hideaway members, ensuring that staff members will have the safety net they need in challenging times.
